Buccal Massage Training
A Hands-On Experience in Facial Release + Intraoral Massage
An invitation to slow down, deepen your touch, and explore a different way of working with the face.
This in-person buccal massage training is about more than learning a sequence. It’s an opportunity to become curious about the tension we hold around the jaw and cheeks, how different techniques feel, and how to offer this work with care and confidence.
Working both inside the mouth and externally on the face, we’ll explore muscles and tissues that can be difficult to reach through external massage alone. There will be time to practice, ask questions, and experience the work in your own body—so your understanding comes not only from what you learn, but from what you feel.
What We’ll Explore Together
Getting to Know the Face
We’ll walk through the facial anatomy that guides this work, connecting what you learn to what you feel beneath your hands. The focus is on building familiarity with the jaw, cheeks, and lower face rather than simply memorizing a technique.
Warming + Preparing
Explore how to ease into a session with external massage, giving the skin and muscles time to warm up before introducing intraoral touch. We’ll pay attention to pacing, transitions, and making space for your client to feel comfortable.
Working with Jaw Tension
Learn ways to approach areas of tightness with thoughtful pressure and trigger point techniques. Rather than forcing a release, we’ll focus on listening through your hands, checking in, and adjusting to each person’s comfort.
Gentle Flow + Facial Contours
We’ll explore gentle external techniques intended to support lymphatic flow, alongside work focused on the contours of the lower face. The emphasis is on a caring, responsive treatment—not promising a particular look or permanent change.
The Jaw + Hip Connection
We’ll consider the jaw + hip connection as a bodywork concept and an invitation to notice the body as a whole. This is a space for curiosity about patterns of tension and posture, rather than assuming one area causes symptoms in another.
Give the Work + Receive the Work
You’ll have the opportunity to both practice hands-on and receive a treatment. Being on the receiving side offers another kind of learning: noticing how pressure lands, how the pace of a session feels, and what helps you feel at ease.
Those experiences can help shape the care you offer others. The intention is to leave with a deeper feel for the technique and a more thoughtful sense of how it might fit into your own practice.
Who This Is For
This training is for estheticians, bodyworkers, acupuncturists, and other licensed practitioners who want to deepen their facial massage practice and bring more presence to their touch.
Intraoral work must be permitted within your license and local regulations. Please confirm with your licensing board and professional liability insurer before offering it to clients; a license to provide touch-based services does not always include work inside the mouth.
